Thermoelectric Total Radiation Sensor measures the total solar radiation in the spectral range of 0.3-3μm based on the thermoelectric effect. It can also be used to measure oblique radiation, reflected radiation, and scattered radiation. The sensing element adopts a wire-wound electroplated thermopile. The total radiation sensor is based on the principle of thermoelectric effect. It adopts a winding electroplating multi-node thermopile with a black coating with high absorption rate. When there is light, the temperature difference between the hot and cold contacts is generated, which generates a potential difference, and then converts the light signal into an electrical signal output. Within the linear error range, the output signal is proportional to the solar radiation. The radiation meter has an integrated temperature compensation device, which can automatically compensate the output potential of the radiation meter by adjusting the temperature coefficient of the thermistor.
Long-wave radiation sensor/earth radiation sensor, based on the principle of thermoelectric effect, is used to measure infrared radiation with a wavelength range of 4 to 50μm from the atmosphere and the earth's surface. It consists of a silicon arc filter cover, a sensing element, a thermistor, a meter body, a shading plate, a desiccant window and other components. The sensing element consists of a wound electroplated multi-junction thermopile, and the sensing surface is coated with a high-absorption matte black coating to absorb radiation energy. The heat generated passes through the thermal resistor, causing the temperature of the thermopile to change and convert it into a voltage signal output. The sensor integrates a temperature compensation device.
Net radiation sensor (net radiation meter), based on thermoelectric effect, measures the net difference between solar radiation and ground radiation, and measures short-wave radiation in the spectral range of 0.27-3μm. It adopts a winding electroplating multi-node thermopile, and the upper and lower surfaces of the thermopile are close to the sensing surface coated with matte black paint. When the upper and lower sensing surfaces are subjected to different light radiation, their respective thermopiles are heated to form hot and cold nodes, generating a temperature difference potential. There are two windshields on the upper and lower parts of the sensor, which are made of polyethylene film with high light transmittance (long-wave radiation band of 3000-12000nm).
Net total radiation sensor (net total radiation meter), based on the principle of thermoelectric effect (thermopile), measures the net difference between the total wave radiation projected downward from the sky and the total wave radiation projected upward from the earth's surface. Net total radiation meter, composed of 2 short-wave radiation meters and 2 long-wave radiation meters. Short-wave radiation meter consists of quartz cover, sensing element, meter body and other components. Long-wave radiation meter consists of silicon arc filter cover, sensing element, platinum resistor, meter body and other components. Each radiation meter can output each data separately, and can measure short-wave radiation, long-wave radiation, total wave radiation, net total radiation, short-wave reflectivity, and long-wave reflectivity.
Direct radiation sensor, based on the principle of thermoelectric effect (thermopile), measures direct solar radiation in the spectral range of 0.3μm-3μm. In order to allow only solar radiation to reach the sensing surface, a 0.5° shading cylinder is used. The α angle of the shading cylinder is 10°, and there are several layers of gratings inside (to reduce light diffusion). When aimed at the sun, the sun's light just falls on the thermopile sensing surface at the bottom of the cylinder. The integrated tracking device uses a 12V DC stepper motor, which is controlled by a microcomputer and accurately tracks the trajectory of the sun. When the direct solar radiation exceeds 120W·m-2, it can be connected to a sunshine hour recorder to directly measure the sunshine hours.
